Great success for Yubuy as the TV-commerce platform wins APDC Startups award

The TV-commerce platform can already be found in 3 million homes, and the stores have surpassed more than 1 million visitors and over 200 thousand orders in 2017 alone. Brazil, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Dubai are the next steps on Yubuy’s journey.
 
 
Lisbon, October 2017 – Yubuy have celebrated a significant success after being awarded the APDC (Association for the Development of Communications) Startups award. The award was given during the 27th Business Digital Congress, which took place on September 27th and 28th, at the Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon.

Established in July 2015, Yubuy was a strategic investment by the InnoWave Group. A team exclusively for the development of the TV-commerce space with worldwide capabilities was formed, and by consolidating the demand for home delivery services, a new era of for marketplace retail offerings began to form.
 
In recent months - in addition to launching new features that allow better interaction with television audiences - Yubuy has placed an emphasis on developing new partnerships, including strategic relationships with channels and TV content producers. Furthermore the development of Yubuy’s platform version 2.1 has been completed, emphasizing the value of user experience and consumer satisfaction.
 
"Ensuring the best user experience with value recommendations was not enough, so it was essential for us to launch a secure payment gateway; this was a process that culminated in the launch of the Yubuy TV platform as you see it now -commerce that has been recognized and rewarded by national and foreign entities on several occasions " explains Miguel Carvalho.
 
Yubuy’s evolution has aided in solidifying the next steps toward entering new international markets, with Brazil, the UK, the Netherlands, and Dubai being considered priorities due to the existing interactive TV culture within these regions.
 
This year alone "we have already surpassed the 1.2 million mark in annual sales and we are breaking the record of monthly sales, which, in the case of startups, is a must" Miguel describes.
 
"We have a mature platform, operating fully in the national market. We are present in 3 million homes and we have already passed more than 1 million visitors and 200 thousand orders in our stores, so we can say that 2017 is a year of success for us. We look to 2018 as a year filled with more opportunities to explore, "adds Miguel Carvalho.
 
Currently available through the 3 main  Portuguese TV operators - MEO, NOS and Vodafone - and on Samsung smart TVs, yubuy already has 24 stores, two television channels specific to Vodafone, and other unique channels worldwide. "The sales platform is consolidated, and we are now preparing for new challenges in the area of interactive advertising, health and social responsibility," Miguel concludes.
