InnoWave achieves certification in Quality Management and Innovation
InnoWave, a Portuguese IT Company, announced today that its management system received two certifications in Quality Management and Innovation: Quality Management System Certification (NP EN ISO 9001: 2008) and Research, Development and Innovation Management System Certification (NP 4457: 2007).
Both certifications were granted by SGS Portugal, an independent certification entity. The adopted standards ensure that InnoWave acts according to a Quality and RDI Policy which reflects the Board's commitment to the integrated management system, and driven by a culture of best practices and continuous improvement.
Tiago Gonçalves, Managing Partner at InnoWave Technologies, highlights that "Both certifications provide us with the tools we need for process improvement and optimization. Besides being a motivation for our employees, they reinforce our credibility, both with existing customers and new prospects. "
The implementation of the Quality Management System according to the NP EN ISO 9001: 2008 standard allowed InnoWave to:
Implement a process management culture;
Map and optimize existing processes;
Implement a tool that measures process effectiveness, providing information to the Board, ensuring that decision-taking is supported by facts and improvement measures are planned and monitored.
The implementation of the Research, Development and Innovation Management System according to the NP 4457: 2007 standard allowed InnoWave to:
Implement an interface management model that includes the three expertise areas that should be taken into account in RDI activities: technological, organizational and market;
Identify the relevant interfaces that should be taken into account in InnoWave’s activity;
Create and implement a methodology for the evaluation of ideas and opportunities;
Systematize RDI activities through the implementation of methodologies for planning and monitoring RDI projects in the areas of processes, organization, products / services and marketing;
Establish Key Process Indicators and goals for monitoring resources associated with RDI activities, providing information to the Board and measuring the results obtained in order to assess RDI's contribution to InnoWave’s activity and knowledge.
InnoWave chose to design an integrated management system based on the compatibility of the two standards which allow the implementation of a global management system.
According to the latest IPAC’s data, there are 5938 companies in Portugal certified according to the NP EN ISO 9001: 2008 standard, 164 according to the NP 4457: 2007 standard and only 38 according to both standards.
The integrated management system was designed and implemented by an internal RDI Quality Team who is also responsible for its maintenance.
